Groundbreaking for 55+ Seniors Affordable Housing in Stony Plain
Folkstone Manor is one step closer to becoming a reality for seniors, emerging seniors and veterans looking for an affordable housing option in our community. Dignitaries (as pictured below) and the community joined Executive Director, Lori-Anne St. Arnault on October 18th for the groundbreaking ceremony for this new affordable housing apartment building.

Meridian Housing Foundation is grateful for the support of the Government of Alberta and the Town of Stony Plain, as well as the Stony Plain Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256’s pledge to raise funds for this much-needed project. A number of suites in the new building will be reserved for veterans.

Meridian Housing Foundation is pleased to announce that “Folkstone Manor” is the official name of the new 55+ Affordable Seniors Housing project to be built in Old Town Stony Plain. Congratulations to Odette and Ivy who were presented gift cards for submitting the name chosen for our new building.
Construction on Folkstone Manor is slated to begin October 2019 with anticipated completion in spring of 2021.
