The Foundation

Introduction to Meridian Housing Foundation

Since 1960, Meridian Housing Foundation has provided safe, supportive, and affordable housing in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County. Founded through a partnership between local municipalities to address housing needs for seniors 65+, the Foundation is now a vital community resource. In 2023, Meridian Housing Foundation became the local provider of the Rent Supplement Program, allowing the Foundation to serve a broader demographic of households. Our mission is to create safe, welcoming environments where seniors enjoy vibrant communities while maintaining independence.

Resident

“I was alone, looking after my house, and visiting my husband who wasn’t well. I suddenly decided one day I just couldn’t look after the yard anymore. And I made up my mind that I was going to move to Meridian. I do like it here; it’s really good. It’s really positive. The people here are very very nice and supportive.”
