Our History

A Long Legacy of Community Care

Meridian Housing Foundation was established in 1960 in Stony Plain, Alberta when local municipalities entered into a collaborative partnership to provide housing for seniors 65 and older. Currently, these municipalities include the City of Spruce Grove, the Town of Stony Plain, and Parkland County.

In 1995, Meridian Housing Foundation was established as a “Housing Management Body” by Ministerial Order under the Alberta Housing Act and became a registered charity.
