Frequently Asked Questions

Q:
Are you building any more housing?
A:

We are actively working to expand our portfolio to meet the needs of the communities we serve. Currently, we are constructing a 102-unit supportive seniors lodge in the heart of Spruce Grove.

Q:
Do you allow smoking?
A:

As per Provincial Government legislation, all our buildings are smoke-free and smoking is not allowed in any of our units. This includes cannabis smoke and vaping. The growth of cannabis plants is also prohibited in all Meridian Housing Foundation buildings.

Q:
Do you allow pets?
A:

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in any of our buildings. “Visiting” pets are welcome for short periods but long term/overnight visits are not allowed.

Q:
How long do I wait once I apply?
A:

Due to the nature of most of our programs being priority-needs based, we cannot estimate or guarantee wait times as waitlists fluctuate.

Q:
Do you offer Family Affordable Housing or Community Housing?
A:

While we do not currently offer Family Affordable Housing or Community Housing, we are actively working towards expanding our housing solutions to serve a broader demographic. In the meantime, we encourage households facing rental challenges to explore our Rent Supplement Program, which may provide valuable support.

Q:
How do I submit an application?
A:

Applications can be submitted online, by e-mail, mail, or dropped off in person at our Administration Office.
