Folkstone Manor is Stony Plain’s first affordable housing option for seniors and emerging seniors, ages 55 and older. This four-story building offers 63 units, including 41 one-bedroom suites and 22 two-bedroom suites, all designed for accessibility. The facility features shared laundry on each floor and both underground and surface parking.
Rent is based on household income, with one-bedroom suites ranging from $840 to $1065, and two-bedroom suites from $1,080 to $1,325. Rent includes water, sewer, waste, and heat, while residents cover electricity, telephone, cable, and internet. Security deposits equal one month’s rent, with parking available for an additional monthly fee.
Folkstone Manor is an adult building for people 55 and older. Priority is given to seniors with a total annual income of $46,500 or less for one-bedroom suites, or $58,000 or less for two-bedroom suites. Current residents of Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County are also prioritized.
Folkstone Manor rents are below market value, and not subsidized. Folkstone Manor uses a tiered rate system, where rent amounts are based on the total household income.
