Folkstone Manor

Folkstone Manor will be Stony Plain’s first affordable housing facility for seniors and emerging seniors ages 55+. It will be relaxed, comfortable, welcoming and in character with its beautiful residential neighbourhood. All units and common areas are of universal design for greatest accessibility, convenience, use and enjoyment in support of aging-in-place.

Folkstone Manor will feature:

  • 4 storeys with elevator;
  • 63 units;
  • 41 one-bedroom (approx. 600 ft2);
  • 22 two-bedroom suites (approx. 800 ft2);
  • Shared laundry facilities on each floor;
  • Common areas on each floor; and
  • Underground and surface parking options.

Community-Use Space

Folkstone Manor will also feature a community-use space with access to
an outdoor deck. The space will be accessible to residents and the community. It will be utilized for programming, community functions, meetings and private events.

Veterans

Stony Plain’s Legion #256 has pledged to raise $600,000 in support of 6 one-bedroom apartments in Folkstone Manor for low-income veterans.

“The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #256 is extremely excited to provide support to the Meridian Housing Foundation on this affordable housing project for Parkland region, and more specifically the six units which will be prioritized for Veteran occupancy. Our mandate is to support Veterans and their families and seniors in our community. Our Veterans are looking for assistance and affordable housing is at the top of the list.

This project will go a long way to prove to Veterans that the communities in which they live care about their well-being and appreciate the sacrifices Veterans made to ensure that we can live and thrive in a free and democratic country.”
